The Dress

The dress is the main feature of this illustration. I am going to use this as a way of demonstrating the use of a range of blending modes in application.

I began to illustrate the dress by tracing out the basic shapes of the dress drapes in a range of colours to try and prevent confusion.

I then had to block out the colours and rearange the sections to reflect the layers of the dress.

This is the dress top after re-arranging the layers. You can't really see the effect of the layers properly due to the full opacity of the panels.

This photo shows the dress with 50% opacity allowing you to see the layers interacting with each other. When blending modes are applied, the panels will interact with the layers underneath allowing the layering to be visualised.
